Pawtucket - A joint investigation of an October 14th incident at Tolman High School conducted by the Rhode Island State Police and the Pawtucket Police Department Internal Investigation unit, has concluded that the School Resource Officer (SRO) involved, acted reasonably and in keeping with his training, with the use of force applied to a takedown maneuver resulting in the arrest of two juveniles. State Police Investigates Two Fatal Motor Vehicle Crashes on Route 146 Within a Four-Hour Period

O'Donnell, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, announces that Troopers responded to two separate fatal motor vehicle crashes on Route 146 that occurred within a four hour period on Wednesday afternoon, April 2, 2014. The first crash occurred on April 2, 2014 at approximately 1:22 PM on Route 146 south in the Town of North Providence. State Police Arrests Subject for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol with Two Children in the Vehicle

The arrest was the result of a multiple 911 calls to the barracks reporting the accident and its subsequent investigation. The operator was identified as William E. Two Arrested Accused Of Heroin Trafficking

Rhode Island - Rhode Island State Police announced the arrest of two men from Massachusetts for heroin trafficking. Gary Couto of Somerset and Steven M. Bush of Fall River were arrested during a  vehicle stop on Interstate 95 in East Providence. There a police dog detected drugs in the vehichle. Police said they found and seized 200 sachets with heroin.
