The former President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, rejected accusations that he received confidential information from a judge about legal proceedings against him.

Sarkozy, the first time that he addresses the French public since losing elections in 2012, reported being subjected to wiretapping since last September.

French police investigats Sarkozy for the alleged illegal financing of his electoral campaign of 2007 with donations received from Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi.

In a column published by the newspaper Le Figaro, the former President also denied that he intends to be a presidential candidate in 2017.
