UMass Dartmouth Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship to host Maritime Innovations Conference November 30

The UMass Dartmouth Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship will hold the
“Maritime Innovation: Connecting, training, and advancing” conference on Wednesday,
November 30, from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM , at 151 Martine Street, Fall River, MA, 02723.

“The focus of this year’s conference will be on the challenges and opportunities of
doing business in the Arctic and it will bring together leading edge marine
technology companies, scientists, and policy makes to offer their perspective on
current trends in the industry, and showcase several exciting start-up
technologies,” said CIE Director Tobias Stapleton. “This is all part of our mission
to connect the university with industry, academic partners and other key
stakeholders to grow the region’s innovation economy.”

The event will include panel discussions, networking, elevator pitches, and
workshops on topics including arctic-related economic and environmental issues,
cross-border business with Canada, offshore wind energy, and more. Stephen McNeil,
the Premier of Nova Scotia and Jim Hanlon, the CEO of the Institute for Ocean
Enterprise in Halifax, Nova Scotia, will be witnessing the signing of an MOU between
the UMass Dartmouth CIE and the Center for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship.
