CENTRAL FALLS – On November 25, 2015 Central Falls officers responded to the vicinity of Crossman and Earle Street’s, making contact with two victims of an alleged robbery.  The juvenile victim stated that he had arranged on Craigslist to meet an unknown subject to sell an XBOX One game console.  The other victim stated that they were approached by three subjects and began a conversation in regards to purchasing the game console.

The adult asserted that one of their assailants placed him in a chokehold and put a firearm up against his neck while another grabbed the game console; two of the suspects purportedly fled on foot.   The victims gave descriptions of their assailants whereby police conducted a search of the surrounding area.  Within moments two individuals were spotted, and after a brief foot pursuit, they were apprehended.  The third allegedly fled the area in an unknown vehicle with the game console. During the subsequent investigation the third suspect was positively identified and an arrest warrant obtained.

The two captured the night of the robbery are Luis Maldonado (20) and a (17) year old juvenile male – both of Central Falls.  They were subsequently charged with first degree robbery and conspiracy.  Maldonado was ordered held until a bail review scheduled for February 22, 2016; the juvenile was arraigned in Family Court and ordered held at the Rhode Island Training School pending a future Family Court Hearing.

The third suspect identified as Luis Jimenez-Malave (19), also of Central Falls, turned himself in yesterday and was subsequently arraigned on the same charges as his accomplices. Bail was set in the amount of $40,000.00 with surety where he was ordered held until such bail could be posted.

The Central Falls Police Department would like to remind the public that there is an E-Commerce Safety Zone at Police headquarters which we highly recommend to be utilized to avoid such circumstances.
