Rhode Island - Un incendio la madrugada del viernes dejo a siete personas sin techo. Los bomberos llegaron hasta el 72 de la Avenida Princess, en Cranston un inmueble de 4 pisos, según las autoridades las llamas se iniciaron en el cuarto piso. Un bombero y uno de los residentes resultaron heridos, pero no de gravedad. Las autoridades investigan la causa del incendio. La Cruz Roja esta asistiendo a los damnificados.
Massachusetts - En Lynn, el jefe de bomberos de Lynn confirmo que cuatro personas murieron en el incendio de un inmueble multifamiliar, la madrugada del viernes. Pawtucket - Fire destroy a multi-family home on Thornton Street early Tuesday morning. National Grid was called in to assist in turning the gas off in the area. Firefighters battled the fire in extremely icy conditions, slush and running water covering the road. Everyone in the home was able to get out safely. Firefighters rescued some animals in the home but one cat, it is consider still missing. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Rhode Island - A fire Tuesday night left 21 people homeless. The fire left the building unusable 457 Mineral Spring Avenue in Pawtucket. The victims escaped unharmed, however three firefighters had to be treated at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation. Red Cross is providing support. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
New York authorities confirmed Thursday that seven bodies were recovered following the collapse of an apartment building Wednesday. At least 20 people were injured and several are still missing. The explosion caused the fire that continued through most of the day and when it got dark rescuers finally managed to enter the enclosure to rescue the victims. In what police said was an apparent suicide attempt, a 16-year-old student walked into his Denver high school cafeteria around 7 on Monday and set himself on fire. Using a fire extinguisher, a school custodian quickly doused the flames. No one else was hurt. Before the incident at Standley Lake High School in Westminster, the teenager had posted a note online, which police are investigating. He was hospitalized in critical condition, suffering burns over 80 percent of his body.
Saturday morning a fire broke out at about 9:30 at 45 Rosedale Street and quickly spread to the upper floors of the three-story building. Firefighters encountered heavy fire on the second and third floors of the building. Their work was complicated by ice-cold temperatures and powerlines that were situated in front of the home. Everyone got out safely on their own, and the Red Cross responded to assist the 13 people who lived there. Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
Rhode Island - A man is in critical condition in the hospital after he was rescued by firefighters early Monday.
