Senator Bernie Sanders will visit as part of the Institute’s Getting to the Point
series
BOSTON – The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate will welcome
Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on March 31, 2017, for a moderated discussion with
James Pindell, Political Reporter at The Boston Globe. Senator Sanders will discuss
the future of American democracy, and the critical need for active citizen
participation in the path towards progress and change.

The Getting to the Point series convenes individuals with diverse perspectives to
discuss current issues and challenges facing the nation. Getting to the Point takes
on various formats from town halls to keynote lectures and panel discussions, and
showcases speakers from all walks of life. Previous events have included discussions
with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Congressman John Lewis, Senators
Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker, Pedro Martinez and others.
