North Scituate, RI – Colonel Ann C. Assumpico, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Department of Public Safety held a news conference at State Police Headquarters to announce the launch of a recruitment drive for the 2018 Rhode Island State Police Training Academy.

Colonel Assumpico was joined by Cheryl A. Burrell, Associate Director of the Rhode Island Office of Diversity, Equity and Opportunity, as well our community outreach partners. They discuss some of the specific new initiatives that will be undertaken to attract and retain a gender- and racially diverse group of men and women who more accurately reflect the community.

The 2018 Rhode Island State Police Training Academy is scheduled to begin in June 2018.

The application period for the 2018 Rhode Island State Police Training Academy will begin on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 12:00 a.m. EST. Applications will be accepted through December 27, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
