Rescuers Continue Search In Washington Mudslide
Washington rescue teams are prepared for another day’s search in Snohomish County where on Saturday a devastating landslide occurred.
Dogs, aircraft and bulldozers have been used to search for survivors, but the work has been very slow and dangerous due to conditions similar to quicksand.
So far 14 bodies have been recovered and police are reviewing numerous reports on missing persons to try to identify who is really lost.
Most of the homes affected in the accident are vacation homes.
President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency in the area.
