Ellen Collapses Twitter

A » selfie » full of Hollywood stars published by Oscars host, Ellen DeGeneres, has become the most shared image in the history of Twitter and briefly even made the social network collapse.

In one photo frame DeGeneres got Jennifer Lawrenc , Meryl Streep, Bradley Cooper, Julia Roberts, Kevin Spacey, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong’o, and her brother.

It took less than 40 minutes to beat the record for the most retweeted image dethroning the famous photo of Michelle and Barack Obama published by the U.S. president in his reelection in 2012.

At the end of the Oscars , the » selfie » had been retweeted more than two million times.

DeGeneres urged those who were following the Oscars – nearly one billion people – to make this pictures the most shared. Less than an hour later she announced that the goal had been met .

In the glamorous movie night there were over seven million tweets using hashtags ( tags ) # Oscars and # oscars2014.
