*Pawtucket, RI*: *Crash Pawtucket*, a new initiative aimed at promoting
local Pawtucket businesses and bringing Pawtucket residents together, holds
its February 2017 event at Tacontento Mexican Restaurant. The event will be
Monday, February 13, from 5:30 to 8 at 712 Broadway in Pawtucket, Rhode
Island.

Each month, professionals and residents gather at (“crash”) different
Pawtucket business, enjoying food and drinks, and highlighting that venue
and its contribution to the city. This month, attendees will be able to
sample Mexican food and drinks at Tacontento.

*Crash Pawtucket* was formed by Pawtucket Councilwoman-at-large Sandra
Cano, Pawtucket Ward 5 Councilwoman Meghan Kallman, and community leader
David Norton. The team’s goals are to both bring attention to Pawtucket’s
small businesses, and to deepen a sense of community among Pawtucket
residents.

“Small businesses are the backbone Pawtucket’s economy,” said Councilor
Cano. “We have many of them here in town.”

“We wanted a way to show off what these small businesses are doing,” said
Kallman, “and to bring the community together to enjoy themselves and enjoy
what these venues have to offer.”

“Our hope is to bring recognition to the small businesses in our city.”
said Norton.

Participants at Crash Pawtucket are encouraged to use the hashtags
#CrashPawtucket, #JoinTheEvolution, and #PawtucketPride on social media
when documenting the event.
