Cicilline Statement on Passage of “Health Care” Bill

WASHINGTON – DPCC Co-Chair David N. Cicilline (D-RI) issued the following statement today after House Republicans passed legislation that will eliminate health care coverage for 24 million Americans; cut taxes for millionaires, billionaires, insurance companies, and drug companies; substantially increase insurance premiums; impose an age tax on older Americans; slash funding for children covered under Medicaid; and force millions of working people to pay higher out-of-pocket costs for their health care:

“This is the cruelest and most immoral thing I’ve seen the Republican Party do to the American people. They just passed a bill that they know will result in the deaths of thousands of working people each year. I don’t know how they sleep at night.”
