Atwells Avenue Bridge has Reopened Following Repairs

ROVIDENCE, RI – The Bridge on Atwells Avenue that travels over the Woonasquatucket
River near Valley Street has reopened for vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

The bridge has been closed since January 2015 for repairs from damage sustained
during the floods of 2010. According to the Rhode Island Department of
Transportation, closing the bridge has allowed repairs to be completed in half the
time that would have been required if the bridge had remained open for single lane
travel.
