RI State Police Seek a Late-Model Jeep Possibly Involved in Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on South Road in Exeter

EXETER, RI — Rhode Island State Police are seeking the public’s assistance with
information relating to a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run crash that occurred on South
Road in Exeter between the hours of 9 p.m. on Monday, July 3, 2017 and 6 a.m. on
Tuesday, July 4, 2017. The victim in the crash has been identified Ms. Sarah
Balmforth, age 27, of Exeter, RI.

A possible vehicle wanted in connection with the crash has been identified as a
late-model Jeep Wrangler between the years of 1997 and 2006. The Jeep should have
front passenger-side damage, specifically missing or damaged light fixtures.

The State Police are asking that anyone with information on the above vehicle or
anyone who may have witnessed the crash contact Lieutenant Robert A. Creamer at
401-444-1046.
