Warwick – On Friday, Veteran’s Day, at the Warwick Mall Operation Stand Down RI had setup informational tents to help veterans with housing benefits, enrolling in the VA and also find jobs.

Operation Stand Down RI mission is to end homelessness among veterans. OSDRI Executive Director Erik Wallin said “Many of them come back and still looking for jobs, lost their housing and suffering from scars of war.” “There are vets sleeping in the woods and the cars and even with their families.”

To help Operation Stand Down RI with their mission, PawSox President Dr. Charles Steinberg and Vice-President/Club Counsel Kim Miner, who administers the PawSox/Skeffington Charitable Foundation made a $3,000 contribution to the organization. The donation is to help veterans secure housing and employment, as well as assistance for basic human needs.

Governor Raimondo, Senator Reed, Senator Whitehouse, Congressman Langevin and Kasim Yarn, Director, Office of Veterans Affairs also attended this event.
