 US and Chinese Presidents Analyze Ukrainian Crisis

U.S. President Barack Obama discussed the Ukrainian crisis with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping .

The White House said the two leaders had agreed on the importance of upholding the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Chinese agency, Xinhua news said that Xi Jinping has called on all parties to channel their differences through diplomacy and exercise restraint .

British and German officials said the president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has promised to talk to his foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, on the possibility of creating an international contact group to facilitate dialogue with the new Ukrainian government.

Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Deshchytsya said at a press conference that the new authorities are ready to negotiate greater autonomy to the regions and discuss the rights of ethnic minorities to the European Council and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
