URI Cancel In-Person Classes
The University of Rhode Island:
All in-person undergraduate and graduate classes are canceled from Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 20.
From March 23, through at least April 3, all classes and meetings will be delivered remotely and online classes will continue as scheduled. The university said faculty members have been instructed to relay their plans for remote instruction to their students by March 23.
URI has also suspended all university-sponsored international travel until May 1 pending evolving circumstances. University officials say there are no known cases of COVID-19 within the campus community.
If you have recently traveled to or from a part of the world that has experienced an outbreak, you’re advised to follow CDC travelers’ guidance and monitor your health closely for 14 days.
Starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, URI will have a dedicated hotline for anyone with questions about the coronavirus response. The hotline is (401) 874-3082 and will be staffed on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
