Award Celebration to be held March 2, 2017

Providence, RI – United Way of Rhode Island (UWRI) celebrates the first ten years of 2-1-1 service in Rhode Island. They will release a annual data report and honor community partners on Thursday, March 2nd at 3:30pm.  The presentation will be held at the Rhode Island State House, followed by reception at Bravo Brasserie.

The 2-1-1 Annual Data Release Help Starts HereWith 200,000 calls a year, 2-1-1 in RI has a pulse on the basic needs that are being met, and where Rhode Islanders struggle, year after year. Among the top needs, Help Starts Here shares why access to housing is a top priority for UWRI, including why we voted Yes on 7 and what we’ll advocate for in the 2017 legislative session.

Since 2007, United Way 2-1-1 in Rhode Island handled 1,640,500 requests from Rhode Islanders in need, an average of 200,000 each year.

2-1-1 provides all Rhode Islanders a free, human connection 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – in multiple languages.
