New York authorities confirmed Thursday that seven bodies were recovered following the collapse of an apartment building Wednesday. At least 20 people were injured and several are still missing. The explosion caused the fire that continued through most of the day and when it got dark rescuers finally managed to enter the enclosure to rescue the victims. The Police Department of New York reported two killed by an explosion and the collapse of two buildings in the area of Harlem. The dead were two women. Two buildings collapsed Tuesday in the area of Manhattan in New York City, apparently because of an explosion. A fire spokesman confirmed that there are at least eleven minor injuries. So far there is no information about fatal injuries or if anyone is trapped in the buildings. Occupants Safe After Fire In Providence Home

Saturday morning a fire broke out at about 9:30 at 45 Rosedale Street and quickly spread to the upper floors of the three-story building. Firefighters encountered heavy fire on the second and third floors of the building. Their work was complicated by ice-cold temperatures and powerlines that were situated in front of the home. Everyone got out safely on their own, and the Red Cross responded to assist the 13 people who lived there. Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

A man is seriously injured in fire in Providence

Rhode Island - A man is in critical condition in the hospital after he was rescued by firefighters early Monday. Firefighters arrived to 9 Parks Place in Providence and found the man in his apartment in the 5th floor, which was on fire. The flames were controlled and the other houses were not harmed.
