Central Falls school principal dies

Rhode Island - The director of a primary school in Central Falls who worked in the school system of the city for nearly 30 years died. The school district announced that the Principal of the Ella Risk  Elementary School, Maureen Azar, died suddenly early Tuesday, at age 50 years. Waiver for the NECAP

Rhode Island - Some Rhode Island students who have secured admission to 2 or 4 year universities or colleges need not be subjected to the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) to ensure they receive their high school diplomas . This was announced by a Rhode Island Education Department spokesperson, adding that it has provided information and guidance to school superintendents last January 3 who may now issue waivers for NECAP tests starting with students graduating this year.
