Assumpico, Superintendent, of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Rhode Island Department of Public Safety, announces that on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, members of the Rhode Island State Police Detective Bureau petitioned eight (8) juveniles to the Rhode Island Family Court as a result of an investigation into a disturbance at the Rhode Island Training School on July 26, 2017. Rhode Island State Police Remind Motorists that Licenses, Registrations Expiring in July 2017 Automatically Extended Until September 30, 2017

SCITUATE, RI -- Rhode Island State Police remind motorists that all drivers' licenses and motor vehicle registrations due to expire between July 1 and July 31, 2017 have been automatically extended through September 30, 2017. The extension results from the Rhode Island Department of Motor Vehicles transitioning to new databases and computer systems, which resulted in some people not being able to renew licenses and registrations set to expire this month. Legislation has been passed within Rhode Island that allows the Administrator of the Division of Motor Vehicles to extend expiration dates in certain circumstances, which includes this computer upgrade.…

Schedule Changes for Providence Recreation Centers for Week of June, 26, 2017

PROVIDENCE, RI - The City of Providence advises residents that from Monday, June 26, 2017 to Thursday, June 29, 2017 recreation centers will operate on a revised schedule in preparation for a busy summer season that will include various new camps and activities for youth. The schedule will allow for cleanups and programming development during a week when Providence recreation centers see a decrease in attendance numbers. Providence Municipal Court Will Close on Wednesday March 8, 2017

PROVIDENCE, RI—City Council President Luis Aponte issued an advisory to inform the public that Providence Municipal Court will be closed on Wednesday, March 8th. Aponte was informed today that the March 8th “Day Without a Woman” demonstration will leave the court without enough staff to open its doors.
