Statement by Secretary of State Nellie M. Gorbea on the passing of Senator William Walaska

“For over 20 years, Senator William Walaska worked tirelessly in the State Senate
advocating for the citizens of Warwick and a strong business climate across the
state. Most recently, he helped countless Rhode Islanders by sharing his own story
and helped to pass legislation that expanded coverage for experimental uses of
prescription drugs. Those of us who knew Bill will miss his friendship, his wit, and
his vision. I extend my deepest condolences to his family.”
