Rhode Island – Colonel Steven G. O’Donnell, Superintendent, of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, announces that members of the Rhode Island State Police arrested two (2) individuals for Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct resulting from their conduct in a crowd on Greenwich Avenue following the Donald Trump rally on Monday April 25, 2016.

On April 27, 2016, the following two individuals were arrested and charged with Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct:

• Josh Sandin, age 19, of 51 King Street, Warwick, Rhode Island
• Alexander Carrion, age 22, of 25 Iona Street, Providence, Rhode Island

On April 25, 2016, Troopers assigned to the Donald Trump rally security detail at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick initiated an investigation into reports of an assault that occurred on Greenwich Avenue. The results of the initial investigation were inconclusive, due to conflicting witness accounts and a lack of cooperation by Sandin and Carrion.
