RI State Police investigate fatal pedestrian crash on I-95 in Pawtucket
Colonel Ann C. Assumpico, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and
Director of the Department of Public Safety, states that a pedestrian was struck and
killed on Interstate 95 in Pawtucket at approximately 11 p.m. last night.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was struck by oncoming traffic
in the southbound travel lanes of Interstate 95 near Exit 27.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation by troopers from the Rhode Island State Police
Lincoln Barracks, the Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Forensic Services Unit.
