 Rhode Island State Police Investigating the Sudden Deaths of Two Exeter Residents

At approximately 12:25 PM, the Rhode Island State Police Hope Valley Barracks received a 911 call from a male resident of 269 Skunk Hill Road in Exeter. The caller advised that he had found both his mother and step sister deceased in their residence, located at 269 A Skunk Hill Road.
Troopers were met on scene by the caller along with the Exeter Fire Department. The mother, identified as Wilma Reynolds, age 85, was located in her bedroom on the top floor of the residence. The step-sister, identified as Carol Lydick, age 64, was found in her bedroom on the bottom floor.
State Police Detectives from both the Major Crimes and Forensic Sciences Units responded to the scene.
The Medical Examiner’s Office also responded and took custody of the deceased.
The investigation continues.
