 RHODE ISLAND STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH ON ROUTE 95 IN THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET

Rhode Island – On March 5, 2016 at 4:23PM, the State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 95 in the City of Pawtucket.

Investigation revealed a silver Toyota, that was traveling in the high-speed lane of Route 95 south was struck by a blue Toyota that had been traveling in the center lane and attempted to change lanes into the high-speed lane. This collision caused the Silver Toyota to strike the jersey barrier located in the center median and roll over onto the Route 95 north high-speed lane, where it was subsequently struck by a white Chevrolet van.

The blue Toyota veered right across all lanes of travel and struck the jersey barrier located in the right shoulder of Route 95 south. The operator of the blue Toyota was identified as Carlos O. Swepson, age 22 of 479 Pleasant Street Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He was later transported to Fatima Hospital with complaints of pain. His occupant Sarita C. Swepson, age 43 of 81 Arthur Street, Apt. #12, Pawtucket was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries.

The operator of the Silver Toyota was identified as Jillian R. Joslyn, age 27 of 67 Blackstone Street, Cumberland, Rhode Island. She was transported to Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Her two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. They are identified as Derrick T. Joslyn, age 28 of 67 Blackstone Street, Cumberland, Rhode Island and Tiffany Joslyn, age 33 of 1201 South Eads Street Apt. #1516, Arlington, Virginia.

The operator of the white Chevrolet van was identified as Ernest Natale, age 64 of 21 Edward Drive, Whitman, Massachusetts. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His occupant was identified as David M. Natale, age 36 of 33 Ames Avenue, Wrentham, Massachusetts. He was also transported to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries.
