RHODE ISLAND STATE POLICE HIGH INTENSITY DRUG TRAFFICKING AREA TASK FORCE, PROVIDENCE POLICE, CRANSTON POLICE, DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION, BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND FIREARMS, HOMELAND SECURITY INVESTIGATIONS AND THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION ARREST 21 SUBJECTS ON VARIOUS CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE VIOLATIONS

Rhode Island – Colonel Steven G. O’Donnell, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, announce the arrest of twenty-one individuals on various controlled substance violations as a result of a six month coordinated effort by members of the Rhode Island State Police High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, the Providence Police, the Cranston Police, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Homeland Security Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The following subjects are scheduled to be arraigned in Sixth Division District Court at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 20, 2016.
1. Juan RIVERA, age 50, of 64 Cumerford Street, Providence, Rhode Island
 Controlled Substance Conspiracy 22 counts
 Possession with intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance 27 counts

As a result of this investigation the following amounts of narcotics were seized.
 1,382 grams of cocaine
 160 grams of crack cocaine
 195 grams of heroin
 10 oxycontin pills
The above arrests were the result of purchases by undercover officers within the last six months.
The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force is managed by the Rhode Island State Police and comprised of members from Providence Police, Pawtucket Police, Johnston Police, Central Falls Police, North Providence Police, West Warwick Police, United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, United States Drug Enforcement Administration and the United States Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations.
