Rep. Reilly seeks transportation plan answers from Governor Raimondo
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Daniel P. Reilly has written to Governor Gina
Raimondo seeking answers to several unanswered questions regarding the
Governor’s RhodeWorks infrastructure repair plan.
«Although our roads and bridges are terrible and in need of drastic
repair, there are still far too many questions relating to the funding
and the administering of the Governor’s RhodeWorks plan and I cannot
blindly put my constituents and the taxpayers of Rhode Island on the
hook for almost a billion dollars without more concrete details,» said
Representative Reilly (R-Dist. 72, Portsmouth, Middletown).
«Transparency and reviewable details of the Governor’s plan have to be
made available to the legislature and the people of Rhode Island before
any type of borrowing plan can be considered. I hope to hear back from
the Governor and her staff soon so we can begin a productive dialogue to
improve our state’s crumbling infrastructure in the most cost-effective
manner for the people of Rhode Island,» added Representative Reilly.
Representative Reilly sent the attached letter to Governor Raimondo on
Friday, Dec. 18 and is awaiting a response from the Governor.
