“We need a statewide elected official who will bring the people’s voice to
the State House”

Providence – State Rep. Aaron Regunberg, a Democratic candidate for
Lieutenant Governor, said he looks forward to a spirited and respectful
debate on the issues and the need for reform following Dan McKee’s
announcement today that he will seek reelection.

“The system needs change,” Rep. Regunberg said. “I’ve seen firsthand how
often Rhode Islanders who can’t afford a State House lobbyist get ignored.
That’s why I’m running to be Lieutenant Governor – because we need a
statewide elected official who will bring the people’s voice to the State
House and fight for a future that is fair for all of us.»

Regunberg’s campaign will be announcing the first of a series of
organizational endorsements in the near future.

Rep. Regunberg was elected to represent RI House District 4 in 2014. In his
time in office, Regunberg has led successful fights to pass legislation
raising Rhode Islanders’ wages, putting more Rhode Islanders to work
expanding wind and solar energy, and guaranteeing earned sick time to over
100,000 working families in Rhode Island.
