WASHINGTON, DC – Today marks 18 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks. U.S. Senator Jack Reed issued the following statement in remembrance of the victims of 9/11 and their families:

«9/11 touched us all. Eighteen years later, we still mourn those we lost in the horrific attack and remember the courage and compassion of those who risked everything trying to help.

«We will never forget the rescue, recovery, and rebuilding efforts. It’s important to reflect on the lessons of 9/11, learn from the past and try to summon the spirit of unity to build a brighter future.»

Later today in Washington, DC, Senator Reed will join with other members of Congress in observing the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance.
