Raimondo’s Statement on Car Tax Relief

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Governor Gina M. Raimondo today made the following statement regarding her budget proposal to provide car tax relief, Article 11 – Motor Vehicle Excise Tax:

«I have put forth a plan to cut the car tax by at least 30 percent, putting more than $50 million back in Rhode Islanders’ pockets. There is no tax more unfair or annoying than the car tax. Rhode Islanders want fairness and a level playing field. I look forward to working with the legislature to give every Rhode Islander the car tax relief they deserve.»
