PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Rhode Island Outdoor Recreation Council, created by Governor Gina M. Raimondo and composed of government, community and industry leaders, will release its Final Report tomorrow on the state of outdoor recreation in Rhode Island. Raimondo established the Council in January 2016 to develop a strategy to promote and expand the state’s outdoor recreation sector. The final report describes an over-arching strategy to celebrate the Ocean State’s natural assets and key recommendations for actions that will further promote and grow the sector.

First Gentleman Andy Moffit, who chairs the Council, will emcee the event. He will be joined by other Council members, including its co-chairs, Health Director Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott and DEM Director Janet Coit, and representatives from state and local government, leaders of private and non-profit groups in the outdoor recreation and healthcare industries, community advocates and philanthropists.
