PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Governor Gina M. Raimondo has appointed Marilyn Cepeda to the Rhode Island Parole Board.

«It’s an honor to be appointed to the Parole Board,» Cepeda said. «I look forward to serving the people of Rhode Island by working to improve our state’s criminal justice system.»

Cepeda has served as the Vice President and General Manager of Access Employment of RI, Inc. since 1993, an employment-placement agency in Providence. She is also a member of the City of Providence’s Board of Parks Commissioners and has volunteered with a variety of community organizations for over 30 years. Cepeda has an associate’s degree in accounting from the Community College of Rhode Island and a bachelor’s degree in human-resource management from Johnson & Wales University.

The Parole Board is composed of seven members appointed by the Governor. As per state law, the Board evaluates and considers the conditional early release of incarcerated offenders who have been sentenced to imprisonment for a term of more than six months.
