Providence Public Schools Closed on March 14th with Citywide Parking Ban to Take Effect 12:01AM (3/14)

PROVIDENCE, RI – Due to winter storm conditions Providence Public Schools and
afterschool activities are canceled for March 14, 2017. Recreation Centers will also
be closed tomorrow. There will be a citywide parking ban beginning at 12:01AM on
March 14th overnight, which will remain in effect until further notice.

Residents with overnight parking passes are advised that they cannot park on the
street during the duration of the citywide parking ban. All vehicles parked on the
street in violation of the citywide parking ban will be ticketed and towed to ensure
that roadways can be plowed properly.

The Department of Public Works has prepared all equipment and personnel to respond
to the storm and will be pretreating the roads prior to snow fall tomorrow.

To report a non-emergency issue, download the PVD311 application on the Apple Store
or Google Play or call 3-1-1 during business hours which will be extended to 8:00PM
on March 14th. The Mayor’s Center for City Services will also open early on March
15th, at 7:30AM for anyone who needs assistance after the storm.

Residents experiencing power outages should contact National Grid at 800-322-3223.
Individuals are warned never to touch downed power lines and report downed lines to
