 Pedestrian Crash Involving Fairhaven Police Cruiser Under Investigation

FAIRHAVEN — Lt. Kevin Kobza reports that a pedestrian crash involving a Fairhaven Police cruiser is currently under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday night, Aug. 25, Fairhaven Police responded to the area of 188 Huttleston Ave. for a report of a pedestrian crash involving a cruiser.

The officer driving the cruiser immediately stopped and summoned for help. Fairhaven Police officers initiated medical care until paramedics arrived on scene and took over medical treatment.

The man suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.

The incident is under investigation by State Police investigators assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

As is protocol, the officer who was driving the cruiser has been placed on administrative leave.
