PAWTUCKET – The Pawtucket Police Department has continued to work aggressively to protect the quality of life issues in the city. Most recently, the department, led by Patrol Division’s Captain Thomas Newman, sent a letter to the Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners bringing their attention to a few incidents that have occurred in one of the establishments.

“The Pawtucket Police Department will continue to focus on the quality of life issues within all of our neighborhoods,” said Acting Public Safety Director and Police Chief Tina Goncalves. “We look forward to working with the Board of License Commissioners to ensure that
businesses in the city can continue to thrive while not becoming a nuisance for our residents.” The Police Department will continue to monitor businesses as they focus on incidents, including noise complaints and the serving of alcohol after hours.

“We want our businesses to be successful and we will continue to work with them, but this cannot come as a detriment to the neighborhood. I thank the Police Department and Chief (Tina) Goncalves for their proactive approach,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien.
