Pawtucket, RI: Crash Pawtucket, a monthly initiative aimed at promoting local
Pawtucket businesses and bringing Pawtucket residents together, will hold its
February event at Red DWG Library. Red DWG Library is a co-working and innovation
hub, designed and run by architect/entrepreneur David Gomez and his wife Katherine
Gomez. The event will be Monday, February 12, from 5:30 to 8 at 413 Central Avenue,
Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Each month, professionals and residents gather at («crash») different Pawtucket
business, enjoying food and drinks, and highlighting that venue and its contribution
to the city. This month, Crash Pawtucket is back with a twist, focusing on
innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities in the city. The event will feature
tours of Red DWG’s space, and presentations from both Gomez and Clare King,
President of Pawtucket-based Propel, LLC, a product innovation company focused on
the development, sales and marketing of textile driven technologies and products.
Pawtucket Economic Director Jeanne Boyle will also address City programs available
to assist small businesses and start-ups.

«We set our roots in Pawtucket because of the rich history and the amazing arts
culture that thrives here. The innovation is buzzing and we are excited with all the
development and new companies moving in», said David Gomez.

Crash Pawtucket is run by Pawtucket Councilwoman-at-large Sandra Cano and Ward 5
Councilwoman Meghan Kallman. The team’s goals are to both bring attention to
Pawtucket’s small businesses, and to deepen a sense of community among Pawtucket
residents.

«We are thrilled to expand this month’s event into something with an entrepreneurial
focus,» said Kallman. «Pawtucket has many entrepreneurs-ranging from small tech
companies to artists-and we are excited to bring people together to talk about all
the promising small businesses in our city».

«Small businesses are the backbone of our economy,» said Cano. «Crash Pawtucket has
always been about supporting and featuring them, and we are delighted to bring our
event to such an innovative and beautiful space».

Participants at Crash Pawtucket are encouraged to use the hashtags #CrashPawtucket,
#JoinTheEvolution, and #PawtucketPride on social media when documenting the event.

About Crash Pawtucket: Crash Pawtucket is an initiative launched by Cano and
Kallman, occurring at a different Pawtucket venue on the second Monday of each
month.
