Nickerson Street Stabbing Arrest
On March 27th at approximately 1:05 AM, officers responded to 12 Nickerson St for the report of multiple people stabbing themselves. Upon arrival, officers encountered a 56 year old male of 12 Nickerson St who was covered in blood and had a serious injury to his right eye. The male victim first advised officer that he was involved in a fight with another male. Officers searching the scene located a female, later identified as Yves Bernadette Sylvain (43) of Chalkstone Ave, Providence, RI, hiding under a vehicle. Sylvain was also covered in blood and was holding a pair of scissors. Sylvain admitted to officers that she was the person who stabbed her boyfriend. The victim and suspect were transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
Both victim and suspect remain hospitalized.
Sylvain was charged with Domestic Felony Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. She will be arraigned at a later date.
