‘It’s a Healthy Affair’

Latino Public Radio invites you to our 2014 Community Excellence Awards Gala

Our theme for this year is healthcare because of the sweeping changes that have taken effect not only in RI but also throughout the country. Affordable healthcare is extremely important and we are recognizing those who have contributed to the effort of expanding healthcare in Rhode Island.

With almost 500 attendees, this event is our major fundraiser for the year and it allows us to continue producing new programs and maintain current ones on air.

Join us in honoring a number of exceptional people and recognizing them for their exemplary leadership in the Latino community.

Our Keynote Speaker for the evening is Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Roberts.

Roberts has led the fight to ensure that all Rhode Islanders have access to high quality health care at a cost they can afford. She has distinguished herself as one of RI’s most respected advocates for quality, affordable health care.

We will also be honoring Dr. Michael Fine with the Community Champion Award. He is the first individual to receive the award, and was chosen because he has dedicated much of his career to improving healthcare and making it accessible to all.

Receiving the Honorary Lifetime Member Award  will be Neighborhood Health Plan of RI

Receiving the Community Excellence Health Award will be the Rhode Island Health Center Association.

Receiving the Corporate Community Excellence Award will be HealthSource RI.
