PROVIDENCE, RI - Mayor Jorge Elorza today announced that Chief of Policy and
Innovation Nicole Pollock will transition to serve as Chief of Staff as part of an
ongoing restructuring of the Mayor's executive staff.

"Nicole has proven that she is a dynamic, collaborative leader and an innovative
force for progress in the city," said Mayor Elorza. "I know that she will continue
to move Providence forward in her new role."

Pollock joined the administration in February 2015 as Chief Innovation Officer and
has served as Chief of Policy and Innovation for the administration since this
spring. She has led initiatives to improve and streamline city services, increase
data transparency, and measure the effectiveness of the City's processes and
programs.

"I love Providence and look forward to advancing the Mayor's vision for strong,
vibrant neighborhoods, and thriving communities throughout the city," said Pollock.
" We have a strong team and am eager to build on our collective strengths to deliver
on the progress and support that our residents deserve."

Prior to her work with the city, Pollock oversaw policy and bond initiatives,
communications, and program development for the Rhode Island Department of
Environmental Management. A graduate of Brown University, Pollock has remained
active in the Providence community and currently serves on the Board of the West
Broadway Neighborhood Association and the Providence Plan.

Current Chief of Staff Tony Simon will be leaving his position with the city in
order to pursue a new career opportunity. Simon will remain to assist with the
transition through the month of August.

"Tony Simon has played an integral role in helping build the strong foundation of
work that we have accomplished. I am grateful for his service and wish him well as
he begins the next chapter of his career," said Mayor Elorza.

"It's been an honor to help Mayor Elorza build his administration. The mayor's
energy and commitment to building strong and vibrant neighborhoods is contagious and
I am thankful to him for the opportunity to serve with such a talented and dedicated
team of individuals each day," said Simon. "I am excited to build my new business
and look forward to continuing to be an advocate for the city."

Additionally, the Mayor announced that Carolyn Arias will serve as Director of
Telecommunications; Matthew Shumate will serve as Director of Mayoral Advance; and
Angel Subervi will serve as Senior Advisor for Neighborhood Projects.
