Cranston, RI – On Saturday October 28, Latino Public Radio will once again host their popular Barbacoa Politica (Political BBQ) an event that attracts Rhode Island Politicos from both sides of the aisle!
Whether you are a Republican, Democrat, Moderate or Independent, LPR is the place to get your information out to our Latino community. Our listeners depend on us to provide them with unbiased and accurate information and our “Barbacoa Politica” gives them a real connection with their elected officials as well as candidates for political office.
In today’s hyper-partisan times, there is a constant battle to get out a version of news that fits a certain point of view. This feeds into the divisiveness affecting our public discourse causing conflict in the community. People are increasingly on edge and view the battle between Republicans and Democrats as a sign of our country imploding under the weight of uncivil discourse.
We at Latino Public Radio seek to provide a civil discourse where different points of view are expressed, explained and debated so that our listeners can make informed decisions.
“I look forward to Latino Public Radio’s Annual Barbecue every year,” Governor Gina M. Raimondo said. “Rhode Island is a better place when we embrace our diversity and engage with our community. There’s never been a more important time for journalism, and I want to thank LPR for their relentless service to our state.”
“I’m looking forward to joining other politicos, friends and Latino Public Radio listeners for the Barbacoa Politica this Saturday!” commented Cranston Mayor and Gubernatorial Candidate Allan W. Fung. “LPR is an important community partner that gets information out to our diverse community in Cranston and throughout the state. I look forward to sharing my message with Rhode Islanders to make them believe in our state.”
Our hosts will be Doctors Pablo Rodríguez, Alvaro Olivares, Professors Wendy Schiller and Tony Affigne.
This event will be Live on air WRNI 1290AM, Providence and streamed through or website www.lprnoticias.com, LPR’s mobile app and Facebook page
