Juvenile Arrested for December Stabbing
CENTRAL FALLS – At 5:10 PM on December 21, 2015, Central Falls Police and Fire personnel responded to an apartment for a 14 year old female with six stab wounds. The victim stated she was assaulted in Central Falls, but was otherwise indifferent. She was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation turned to Facebook where a 14 year old female was seen bragging about committing the assault and shared a local news link. Other sources corroborated the suspect’s identity and involvement; that information was presented to the victim who became increasingly cooperative, identifying her assailant from a photo line-up.
On December 23, 2015 an arrest warrant was sought, authorizing CFPD Detectives to respond to the suspect’s address where they learned she was out of state for the holidays. The suspect’s father was accommodating and made arrangements to turn his daughter into police as soon as she returned.
As agreed upon, the 14 year old female suspect, accompanied by her father, turned herself into CFPD on January 5, 2016. She was transported to Family Court where she was arraigned on one count of assault with a dangerous weapon and released on home confinement with electronic monitoring until her next court appearance in four weeks.
