HealthSource RI to Open Temporary Contact Center in Warwick

PROVIDENCE – HealthSource RI, the state’s health benefits exchange, will open a temporary satellite Contact Center at 250A Centerville Road in Warwick. The temporary location will open Monday, March 10, and will remain open until the end of April.

HealthSource RI will open the satellite center to provide a convenient alternative walk-in location to Rhode Islanders from communities outside the immediate Providence area. The Warwick center will be open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Consumers interested in learning more about health care coverage options available through HealthSource RI or in enrolling in a HealthSource RI plan may make an appointment at the satellite location or simply walk in.

Those who are interested in beginning the enrollment process during a Contact Center visit should bring with them or know:

• Last year’s tax form/tax information

• Social Security numbers/immigration documents

• Employer Identification Number (EIN): Ask your manager or refer to your W-2 form

• Information about any health insurance you currently have

• Names of any current doctors you want to keep

Many Rhode Islanders who purchase insurance through HealthSource RI will qualify for tax credits to help make monthly premiums more affordable. These tax credits, potentially available to individuals making up to $45,960 a year and families of four making up to $94,200 a year, are applied immediately to reduce the monthly premium, not as an end-of-year tax refund. Depending on income and family size, some Rhode Islanders may qualify for low-cost or no-cost insurance coverage.

The current open enrollment period for individuals and families ends on March 31, 2014. Medicaid-eligible individuals may enroll at any time during the year. Small employers may enroll at their regular renewal date throughout the course of the year.
