“On behalf of the state of Rhode Island, I’d like to congratulate Frank Sanchez on his inauguration as the tenth President of Rhode Island College—and the first Latino president of any Rhode Island college. When we began our search for a new RIC President, we knew we needed someone dedicated to student success, with a track record of innovative, creative leadership. In Frank’s short time since taking the helm, he has already exceeded those expectations. We’ve joined forces to make college more affordable for our students, with programs like the Open Textbook Initiative and the expanded Rhode Island Promise Scholarship. And I know that, together, we’ll continue to do great things for the students of Rhode Island College.”
