PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Throughout the month, she’ll visit businesses that
are hiring Rhode Islanders in advanced industries. She’ll also tout initiatives
like Real Jobs RI which are helping Rhode Islanders develop the skills they need
to compete, as well as her ambitious goal to ensure that 70 percent of Rhode Islanders
have at least an associate’s degree by 2025.
To build a strong economy, we need to invest in ourselves. Governor Raimondo isn’t
going to rest until every Rhode Islander has access to the job training they need
to get ahead. From off-shore, renewable wind energy to the Internet of Things, Rhode
Island is positioned to lead a new industrial revolution in advanced manufacturing
and the innovative economy.
On Friday, the Governor will attend the East Bay Chamber of Commerce’s MFG Day Tour
highlighting several local manufacturers. As part of the tour, she will visit
WaterRower, a Warren-based supplier of rowing machines employing Rhode Islanders in manufacturing
jobs.
