GOP Republican Trey Radel resigns from Congress

Freshman Florida Republican, Trey Radel, who was caught trying to purchase cocaine in a Washington, D.C. sting operation in October, has resigned from Congress Monday. Due to heavy pressure from party leaders, Radel was forced to step aside rather than hold onto the seat he had won in November 2012. As a result a special election will be held to fill the vacancy in the GOP-controlled House.
