First homicide of 2014 in Providence

Rhode Island – Police announced that Nelson Sanchez, 24, was shot Friday night near Atwells Avenue on Putnam Street while sitting inside a vehicle. The driver took him to the police station of the city and from there was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead

Authorities are investigating if this shooting is connected to another that happened hours before at the Chad Brown Housing Complex and left a 16 year old injured. Sanchez is the first fatality of the year.

Rhode Island – La policía anuncio que Nelson Sánchez de 24 años fue baleado la noche del viernes cerca de la Avenida Atwells  la calle Putnam mientras estaba  sentado dentro de un vehículo.  El conductor lo llevo hasta la estación de policía de la ciudad y de allí fue trasladado al Hospital Rhode Island en donde fue declarado muerto

Las autoridades investigan si este tiroteo está conectado con otro que sucedió horas antes en el Complejo de Vivienda de Chad Brown y quedo a un joven de 16 años herido. Sánchez es la primera víctima fatal del año
