First Gentleman host Advanced Coursework Network student panel discussion
Providence – First Gentleman Andy Moffit moderate a student panel discussion on the benefits of participating in the state’s Advanced Coursework Network, a catalog of courses offered through community partner organizations and participating higher education institutions. The network, pioneered by Governor Gina Raimondo and the Rhode Island Department of Education, gives students across Rhode Island the chance to take free, high-quality advanced coursework that would not normally be available in the classroom. Last fall, more than 180 Providence Public School students enrolled in ACN courses through Roger Williams University, Providence Afterschool Alliance (PASA) and Astro Curricular. Also in attendance will be Mayor Jorge Elorza and PPSD Superintendent Christopher Maher.
