Crash Pawtucket holds first event of 2016
*Pawtucket, RI*: *Crash Pawtucket*, a new initiative aimed at promoting
local Pawtucket businesses and bringing Pawtucket residents together, will
hold its first gathering of 2016 on Monday the 11th of January at the
Galway Bay Irish Pub on 156 Bend St. in Pawtucket from 5:30 to 7:30. On the
second Monday of each month, professionals and residents gather at
(“crash”) different Pawtucket business, enjoying food and drinks, and
highlighting that business and its contribution to the city.
*Crash Pawtucket* was formed by Pawtucket Councilwoman-at-large Sandra
Cano, and Pawtucket residents Meghan Kallman and David Norton. The team’s
goals are to both bring attention to Pawtucket’s small businesses, and to
deepen a sense of community among Pawtucket residents.
“We have a vibrant and unique small business community in Pawtucket,” said
Councilor Cano, “I am very excited to support them and share the wonderful
things they are doing.”
“Small businesses are a crucial part of Pawtucket’s economy,” said Kallman.
“We want to get people out and enjoying all that the city has to offer.
This is a fun way to draw attention to everything that is going on, and to
get to know more of our neighbors.”
“*Crash Pawtucket* is a tool to showcase the wonderful things that are
happening around town. We’re brining people together, and also bringing
recognition to the small businesses in our city.” said Norton.
Participants at Crash Pawtucket are encouraged to use the hashtags
#CrashPawtucket, #JoinTheEvolution, and #PawtucketPride when documenting
the event.
