Cranston Police Department Investigating Armed Robbery of TD Bank

Cranston – Colonel Michael J. Winquist, Chief of the Cranston Police Department, announces that the Department’s Detective division is actively investigating an armed bank robbery which occurred at approximately 8:58AM this morning at the TD Bank, located at 176 Phenix Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island.
According to bank employees, the suspect identified as a white male entered the front entrance to the bank wearing a dark grey jacket, lighter grey utility pants, light tan construction boots, sunglasses, a dark colored hat, with a skull mask that concealed a portion of his face. The suspect proceeded into the bank and pointed a black firearm toward one of the employees sitting at a desk. He then proceeded to a teller’s station where he demanded money. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then fled out the front door of the bank and ran toward the rear of the Burger King restaurant located at 200 Phenix Avenue. Members of the Patrol Division assisted Detectives throughout the initial investigation. No bank employees or customers were injured during the robbery. The FBI Providence Office is assisting in the investigation as well.
If any member of the public encounters an individual matching the suspect in the bank surveillance photographs, do not approach and call 9-1-1 as the subject should be considered armed and dangerous.
