 Cranston Police Arrest Manager of Local Restaurant for Sexual Assault of Juvenile Employees

Colonel Michael J. Winquist, Chief of the Cranston Police Department, announces that a local restaurant
manager was charged this week for two counts of sexual assault. Two female employees alleged that
they were assaulted by the manager inside the KFC restaurant, located at 822 Reservoir Avenue,
Cranston.
In early December 2016, Special Victims Unit Detectives received a complaint from a juvenile female
employee and her family alleging that she had been sexually assault by a manager while she was
working at the KFC restaurant in Cranston. As the investigation continued throughout the month of
December, a second juvenile female employee came forward alleging she too was sexual assaulted by
the same restaurant manager. The alleged sexual assaults occurred in October and November of 2016
respectively. This investigation by Cranston Police Special Victims Unit lead to the arrest of Angelo
Ramirez, age 42, of 38 Chester Avenue in Providence, RI for one (1) count of 1st Degree Sexual Assault
and (1) count of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault. Ramirez was arrested and arraigned on the 2nd degree
sexual assault charge on December 23, 2016 and arraigned on the 1st Degree sexual assault allegation
earlier today. Ramirez is currently being held at the Adult Correctional Institution as a parole violator on
the original charge of Assault with Intent to Commit Murder.
